About Us

Who are we?

Hello…. and welcome to our website.  We are Whittington Players, having changed our name from Harlequin Amateur Theatrical Society (known as HATS)  in September 2014.

As you can see we are an amateur dramatic  group, and we entertain  audiences from the Lichfield and Tamworth areas in South Staffordshire.

We have been performing plays, pantomimes, revues, murder mysteries and themed evenings since 2004, and our shows are staged at the Village Hall , Whittington, near Lichfield.

We are always in need of new members to join us.  Not just members who act, we also need people who will help backstage, front stage, with scenery and costumes, lighting and sound and generally  helping us with the running of our performances.

We meet at Whittington Village Hall, Langton Crescent in Whittington (next door to ‘The Bell’ pub)  on Tuesday evenings at 7.30 pm until approximately 10.30pm. As we get nearer to the dates of a production, we usually have extra rehearsals. These can be on a Thursday evening and/or on a Sunday Afternoon.

Everyone is welcome. Why not come and find out about us?
